I saw this setting and totally fell for it.

Sadly, it's sold. Aside from stalking the JbEG website and scouring ebay, does anyone have any other suggestions for antique mounting sources? I want platinum, no pave or side stones, and nothing too flowery. My stone is a 7.92 x 7.72 x 4.73 mm transitional. Thanks!

Okay, sadly, I don't remember the poster's name, but somebody just recently got engaged with a setting practically identical to that - I know she's been active on the LIW board, so maybe post a shout-out there? Or check the SMTB sticky at the top of the page and you should see it before you go too far back ....

P.S. - I think that setting is absolutely beautiful!

David Klass could make that, or actually, make one even nicer. I think this is current:

Junebug's looks a lot like that one too. I love the ribbon/tab prongs

Yes, that is a very similar one on the antiqueengagementrings.com's page. The link above didn't go to the right one so I'll link it again:

You'll need to scroll down the page. It does have some diamonds on the sides but maybe they could tweak it a little for you.

That might be one of the most cost effective ways to go because it's not a totally custom job. If you go custom and you want a decent repro then the setting budget may need to be $2200-3000kish.

Thanks everyone. I know that there are some good or great reproductions out there - and going custom is an option - but I'm really hoping to find an original antique setting. I think I'll just keep stalking ebay!

Oh, you want an authentic vintage setting! I would try contacting some of the larger antique jeweler sellers like Old World Diamonds and Lang's, maybe even Old Treasures on ebay because they sell a lot of jewelry.

It can take a loooooooong time searching on ebay for a setting like that and I would become more flexible on what you want. There just isn't that much vintage setting inventory out there!

I didn't read all the responses but if they haven't been recommended yet you might check out Leigh Jay Nacht Inc.

Gabriel and Co has some nice antique styles. Here's all of their antique rings but you can narrow the results even further by style and metal.

Here's one Gabriel style with nice engraving on the sides, similar to the ring you posted.

Unique Settings has some nice styles too. While I was hunting for my own engagement ring I found them.

This one has some engraving on the sides in a wheat type pattern.

Good luck! I also love antique style jewellery and wanted that style for my engagement ring. Unfortunately it's not easy to find, even online. I ended up choosing a Gabriel ring. Hope you find something lovely :)
