Seeing AVC's at GOG on Friday - thoughts on this cushion

I a so excited! My boyfriend is taking me to GOG on Friday to see the beautiful August Vintage Cushions in person, and we might make a decision on a stone and ring for my engagement ring if we see something that speaks to us!!

I fell in love with these beauties on one of the Show Me the Bling posts...never thought my heart would flutter so much at one type of diamond!

Anyway, our budget for the stone is somewhere in the $6,000-$7,000 range (with an $8,000 total budget and I think I want a solitaire band in the style of the Vatche x prong or a plain Tiffany Novo but it does not have to be a branded band).

What are your thoughts? I am not sure about the K color, but some of the AVCs in the Show Me the Bling thread are L's and M's that do not bother me. However, I know that in person is the way to go.

Do you see any other stones in budget that we should try to look at? I really want the largest face-up stone, that still appears white and is eye clean for the budget (pretty standard parameters, I guess).

I agree. I think I am trying to keep myself busy while I wait. Will certainly post back

I am super jealous!!! I want an AVC and would so LOVE to go there and see a lot of them! It is impossible to judge color in pictures, so it is great you can go there and compare colors! Have fun and remember to take your CAMERA!!! We'd love some shots of the beauties you look at!

Lucky for us we have family in northern NJ and a wedding there on Saturday - perfect excuse for a Friday afternoon trip! Camera is a must but I am not guaranteeing that I will be able to take good shots...

Well I hope you have a wonderful trip! It sounds like a very exciting weekend! Diamond pictures are very hard to take, I will admit! Just take lots and maybe 1 out of 20 will turn out, from my experience!

Have fun!! I picked my RB at GOG back in August and had the best time. Just be sure to allow enough time for the visit. We spent an hour and a half I think looking at RBs, but I am sure you could spend much longer with the AVCs since each one is unique! What an exciting time for you

Just wanted to post a quick THANK YOU to Jon and Sarah at GOG for their help today as my boyfriend and I decided on my ring. Don't know all the details as he wanted to keep some of the ring a surprise, but I did fall in love with the stone linked above. The color did not bother me and the sparkle and fire and colors coming off of it were just mesmerizing. I cannot wait to wear it, whenever the proposal may happen.

And sorry, but we were too enthralled to think to pull out the camera or iphone for pics, but there will be better opportunities
