Security of this style mount?

Does anyone know anything about this type of setting? Is it very secure? It does not look it but I like the style!

That setting is beautiful!

It almost look as if there are 2 skinny trillions on the sides between the split shanks. I kow they aren't really there, but it's still beautiful!

Your new OEC will look lovely in it. I would be a little squeamish about setting a diamond there too.

It is like a tension mount but not really. I have no proof but I don't trust that setting.

I remember Kenny once wrote that he would only trust the top 4 companies for a tension mount. I really just don't think this would cut it and why risk loosing a diamond.

I'd be nervous too. I know that's what insurance is for blah blah, but it still scares me.

Looks like those prongs give more security than a true tension set ring but it leaves a lot of girdle exposed - that's the part that would worry me. It does showcase the stone very nicely though!
