I am a little wary of someone who can not tell gold from silver and is relying entirely on the hallmark number.

I think this type of answer is not atypical from appraising strictly by photos, tho.

Quite a few words for the description, but hardly anything is definitive. It is not really an opinion, but more a list of possibilities. Someone has to physically examine and test things to form a meaningful opinion.
