Hi Guys,
I''m in the hunt for a nicely cut RB of around the .75-.95 weight range, which is white to my eyes (F-H) & eye clean (SI1). She''s a thinish girl, and by her own admission "wouldn''t want anyhting too flashy". This one looks to be quite good value (esp for a branded ACA)...

ACA 0.80, F, SI2 HCA of 1.4. $3192 (with PS discount)
http://www.whiteflash.com/diamonds/diamond_Details.aspx?itemcode=AGS-5378201#

Whiteflash have indicated by email that the inclusion off the table is definitely not visible, and the table inclusion is visible only under a 10x loupe when "rocking the diamond back and forth".. Am i being a "nervous nellie" by worrying about the SI2 inclusion grade?
My budget for the diamond could probably stretch further than this, and I''m looking to get it set in the pretty sweet looking knife-edge Tiffany setting (Plat) from either Superbcert or Whiteflash. What''s the consensus on the proportions of this setting with a diamond of this weight range (and dia of ~6mm) ?? I can''t seem to find any photos of this setting with anything under the 1ct mark in the SMTR/eyecandy folder!
Oh, and please feel free to offer any other diamond suggestions - i''m all ears!
Thanks!
Stu.

it''s normal to be nervous, but i think you will be quite happy with this stone... it sounds like a sweet si2 and the size is perfect.

you can''t go wrong with the knife-edge setting, it is perfection for a solitaire. i think you''re putting together a very nice looking ring!

looks like a good deal to me.
Nice diamond.
WF has a good return policy if you dont like it.

Looks great and scored very well on the HCA. As Strm says WF has a good return policy but I doubt that would be an issue

I bought an SI 2 from Whiteflash. Brian said it was eye clean and it is. I have had the ring over a year and still cannot spot any of the inclusions although I can easily see them with a 10 power loupe.
An eye clean SI 2 presents excellent value because you can get a larger stone or higher color for less than a higher clarity grade.
i also have the knife edge Tiffany setting from them and it is really beautiufl. My stone is large so I do not think it will help to see it but if you do want to look for it, it is under sow me the ring, 4 .10 carat and i am very pleased with the stone and the way Whiteflash does business.

I just bought my H/SI2 from Whiteflash and it is sooooo Eye Clean. The stone is amazing.....since we opted for the SI2 we were able to get a larger stone.

Good Luck!

I also have an SI2 ACA from Whiteflash. My boyfriend cannot see the inclusion in it (a feather). When I first saw the diamond I couldn''t find the inclusion either. It wasn''t until I looked at it through the Whiteflash viewer that I could make out the feather in one of the arrow shafts. Then, when I looked at it again I could find it. I have to focus on a different plane and then rock the stone back and forth to see it (and still, I have to be viewing the diamond from a pretty close distance to be able to find it). It''s pretty easy for me to spot now, but that''s because I know how and where to find it! It doesn''t bother me at all! The diamond is gorgeous!

My advice to you is to order it and take a look for yourself (you get a 10 day inspection period)! Only you will be able to determine if it is eye-clean to you! Everyone''s eyesight is different!

Thanks for all the thoughts. Although I really enjoy searching out all the possiblilties, I never thought i''d end up considering an SI2 - must be the shock that''s got me a little nervous! Though, it''s great to hear that so many of you have ES/ACA Si2''s and are completely happy. I must say that''s going a long way to putting my mind at ease.. Thanks!

Unfortunately, as i''m in Europe, I won''t get the chance to see the diamond in "the flesh" till very close to popping the question (early December). This obviously means that returning the ring for a new diamond could be a huge deal - something that''s great to know is an option, but a road which I really don''t want to go down!!!

That forum showing <1Ct rings is awesome! Amongst my (many other!) thoughts was the look of such a diamond in the setting im considering. I.e is that particular setting (band width & 6 prong) a little to "thick" for <1ct diamonds.. Apparently not! Their''s some great looking combos in there! Another "tick" to put my mind at ease a little!

Again, thanks for all your comments so far!
