Hiya Octos!!

Could be great, an Idealscope image would be good especially for the first one, which vendor matched these for you? I take it they are GIA graded?

FABULOUS size....* grumbles jealously....*

Looks good, I gather AGS graded them?

Oh silly me! Is the second one AGS graded? Polish and symmetry too please Octo and the girdle measurements?

Ya, notice the non-rounded numbers. #1 could be GIA.

Yes I misread the numbers on the second, the first will be GIA.

Yep #1 is GIA, #2 is AGS.

Matched by WF. #2 is an ACA. They will call in #1 if I like the sounds of it. Let me get the other dimensions.

#1
Excellent/Excellent

#2
ideal ideal polish/symmetry
Lower Girdle %: 77
Girdle: Thin to Medium Faceted

Yep #1 is GIA, #2 is AGS.
Thought so, not both - thank you dear!

So is #1 worth having WF bring in?

Could be, the angles are on the edge of steep deep so depending on which way they are rounded ( you probably know GIA rounds the numbers) there could be light leakage or not depending on what the angles actually are.

I''d love to have a matching ACA in my range, but am nervous to buy the one and ''hope for the best'' in finding a match eventually...

I understand, if it was me I would take a look at this one especially if you would like to get the set done and ready to wear!

I actually don''t need the set until September so I *could* wait ;-)

Knowing that, what would you do?

If it was me I would chance it as the first one could be well worth investigating, if there is no leakage then great, if so then at least you know - then you can see what else is out there.

Thanks again Lorelai for your continued help!!!

One last thing - since I''m in Canada and sending them back will not be easy, is WF''s version of "eye clean" good enough for studs in your opinion?

Yes but it is what YOUR expectations are that matters, so make those clear to WF. If for example you don't want to see any visible inclusions from any angle or distance, make sure you tell WF that so you are both on the same page. They are very used to advising in this capacity as you know, so give them as much info as you can concerning your expectations.

The ACA is said to be eyeclean from the top at 8-10 inches.

Also - the ACA was a PS member''s engagement ring according to the certificate number so I figure that is good ;-)

One last thing - there is a perfect match on the wf website but it is essentially an extra 500 because it is one higher grade in clarity...

Do you think it is worth it?

Thanks Stone-Cold. I guess it is just a 45 dollar risk at this point - if the GIA stone works, I''ve saved a bunch vs. getting the other ACA.

Appreciate the input!

Good luck. :)

It could be if it is worth it to you, it might be to me but its up to you! A point to consider, we don't know if the 35/ 40.8 virtual will show leakage, there is a possibility it could do so if you want to be safe the other might be the one to go for if you have the money.

Sooo....I''ve ordered the earrings!!!! They should be ready in about 2 weeks :-)

I will tell the full story when I receive them, but let me just say that Sheerah and everyone at WF went above and beyond to make me happy!!

2 weeks is SUCH a long time though!! Gah!

Thanks for everyone''s input so far!

Let''s see if this works - here are the two idealscope images.

The one on the left is original diamond #2 (AGS) and the one on the right is its AGS mate.
