I have having the worst time trying to locate this! I would like a yellow gold halo without diamonds on a white gold band with diamonds. I live in the middle of nowhere Colorado. Every time I speak to someone about doing a custom, either I am concerned about they quality of their work OR they try to talk me into something I do not want - especially since I am pretty certain I know 90% of what I want. The only good rapport has been with an online vendor. That leaves me a little concern as well.

Let me say thank you in advance to those who reply.

When you say "halo without diamonds", do you mean a bezel? Like this:

Once we clarify exactly what you have in mind, there are lots of folks that will happily help you search. FWIW, I adore bezel set stones of all kinds. This style setting is a great way to both accent and protect your stone.

the picture is way too small to see clearly...but from the looks of it, the band is yellow gold and not white gold...

Sorry, not to be rude, but I mentioned white/yellow gold. They do not make it the way I want it, thus my original post. (and yes, I have spoke to them about doing something custom. Not only are they pricey for diamond quality I think is not worth any amount of money (SI), it is their policy not let the customer supply the center stone -- a 14x14mm cushion Aqua they do not have and will have to source). The pic was the best I could get off their site. I only posted it because of the setting. Everyone that posted pics are on the right track. That setting I posted is pretty much the key, which seems to be impossible for anyone to do custom without trying to triple charging for the word "custom". It is my goal to see what others on here might know of that maybe I missed in my endless internet searches, before I continued down the exhaustive custom route that is becoming depressive :(

I thought she was looking for a plain shank halo from the title. But then went I read the description I thought that she is looking for a yellow gold bezel with a white metal pave band.

So you want what was posted above for you (bezel) or do you want this (only with the metal colors reversed)?

Also we do recommend white metal next to a white stone, not yellow, generally.

This is my favorite bezel:

You can easily have them add pave on the shank (that's what the band is called on an engagement ring) and do it in two tone.

ERD changed their name and are called Brilliantly Engaged (BE) now. They are who I would recommend for a setting like you want.

It would have to be custom. But it should be quite reasonable (2400 ish).

Blueroses, one of our posters on here has a fantastic bezel with a pave shank. It's not two tone but it's lovely.

Here's another of that style:

if you trust PS, which it seems like you do, then we'll probably tell u to go the online vendor route. we've all be concerned about doing everything online but everybody's been pleasantly surprised with the outcome so you have nothing to worry about.

may i ask what your budget it? and what is this triple charge price?

have you asked any online vendors for a quote? are they within your budget?

Gypsy you are on it! If either of those bezel's of blueroses were yellow gold halo, I would be in heaven! (even though I was not thinking bezel)

here is a link to the website I took the pick off of.
http://www.brilliantearth.com/Sapphire-Waverly-Diamond-Ring-Gold-BE1M64-SB65RD/

The shank is scalloped pave. I think I would prefer a shared prong instead. In white gold.

The setting is a diamond halo with 4 prongs and round center stone. I would like a plain 18k yellow gold halo, with ice blue or light blue green, cushion aqua 12x12mm to 14x14mm.

Originally I was going to put the pictured below diamond band with it, but have decided on matching eternity band in white gold instead and larger Aqua in the engagement ring.

dawnxcui, there really isn't a budget, just do not want to be taken advantage of. everyone has quoted about the same price for the engagement ring without center stone. The price in Aqua has ranged from $250/ct to $500+/ct

The two tone wedding band (custom) ranged in price from $2600 to $7000+. All the same specs. I can buy it from germany with IF stones for less than 4k 1.4mm diamonds. I wanted diamonds @1.8-2.0mm to match the engagement ring.

I was just about to pull the trigger with 25karats when I changed the wedding band from two tone to eternity and it was the same price. Same amount of diamonds, cut, clarity, color. A LOT less gold and work.

Am I on track here or asking too much?

So you want this setting for a cushion aquamarine? Aquamarines are Beryls and they are NOT good stones for every day wear. They are only a 7.5 on the MOHs scale of hardness. Sapphires and rubies (corundum) are about a 9. And diamonds are a 10.

Is this for an engagement ring? I know stones like morganite (also a beryl) and so forth are wildly popular for e-rings, but most colored stone are not up to the wear and tear of everyday wear and certainly Beryls are not.

I would work with Brilliantly engaged for a setting like you want.

But I highly recommend a different colored stone choice. Something with at least an 8.5 on the MOHs scale.

Thanks for the concern. I'm pretty well versed in the mohs scale and will take the risk. As for brilliant earth, I'm having a less than stellar experience (I cannot provide my center stone and what they want to use as my wedding band does not match the engagement. Oh and their custom prices are outrageous!) will skip using them. 25karats has been a wonderful experience, so far.

Gotta be careful about those acronmyns! Yes, it was Brilliantly Engaged I was referring to. Not Brilliant Earth.

:wavey:

I am still waiting for a quote from BE. Meantime I would have to supply the aquamarine. He said there was a fabulous cutter in San Diego that specializes in semi-precious, fine to estate, but he couldn't remember the name. Long shot but does anyone happen to know?

Andrew Gulij from Gemfix is located in San Diego and does precision cut gemstones. I have a sapphire from him and love the stone and workmanship.
Edited to add that you should take a quick look at his Montana sapphires to see if they interest you at all . He seems to have a good selection of light blues right now that are similar in color to aquamarines but would be more durable. Good luck. Your ring sounds like it will be beautiful!

I love love love this site!!! Thank you so much!!

I have to say OP, my mental image of what you have in mind is GORGEOUS. I love aquas. I do worry about the durability of the ring for everyday wear, though. You will just have to be prepared to replace the stone a time or two throughout the life of the ring.

Since you're not interested in a diamond (the topic of RockyTalky discussion), litka, may I suggest that you start a new thread over on the Colored Stones forum:
https://www.pricescope.com/community/forums/colored-stones.11/
PS's colored stone aficionados will be happy to offer you suggestions for sourcing the aquamarine (don't be surprised, however, if you also get some cautionary warnings there about the suitability of an aquamarine for an e-ring), "benches" who have lots of experience in creating mountings for various colored stones, at not-outrageous prices (this will have to be a custom job), etc. But to avoid confusion, uses bezel instead of halo in your first post there, ok :))

+1, Gypsy has it right, speak with Chris at Brilliantly Engaged.

I love aquamarine and have an aqua ring that I wear on occasion. They are right that you will have to replace the stone during the ring's lifetime if you go with aquamarine. That can weaken prongs so you may also have to replace your setting at some point.

What size and shape are you looking for?

BE has already said that they will not source the aquamarine. That's one of the reasons I'm encouraging litka to now head to the Colored Stones forum. ;))
