Searching for diamond hoop earrings

Hi everyone!

After spending a couple of months lurking, learning and enjoying this great website (I love jewelry), I need to ask for some assistance.

I am wanting to purchase some diamond hoop earrings. I''ve had quite a time finding some I like. I got a pair a few years ago - channel set, yellow gold, oval shaped - lovely earrings, but the diamonds weren''t the best quality and the posts were so big they made my ears hurt. I eventually sold those and got a new pair about 3 months ago, but I''m growing less thrilled with them as time goes on. They are also channel set and done in both white and yellow gold. They are bigger than I really want - both width and length.

So my question is - if you had $400-$700 to spend on hoop earrings - what would you get and where would you get them? I am searching for prong or bead set, white gold, 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch in length and about 2mm in width. (I know I''m not picky at all right? LOL!) I have been looking all over the internet for about 2 weeks now and my head is about to explode with all the choices.

Hi. I bought my diamond huggie''s from Pearlmans. they have a pair of WG hoops that might fit what you are looking for but they are $850:

they have a smaller pair too for only $450.

I would also check out www.signedpieces.com. the earrings they have listed are way over your budget but they might be able to make something that would work.

Whiteflash also has made some gorgeous earrings for folks here but I believe they were custom which will add to the labor cost and might put you over budget as well. It might be worth an email for a quote though.

I''ve been eyeing those $450 ones from Pearlmans, but I wonder if the tcw is big enough to be noticeable? There are some decent looking ones on Blue Nile also.

I wondered the same about the Pearlmans ones too. There is one pair that I think I would like at Blue Nile, but I just can''t tell from the picture. I mean, I think they would do if I couldn''t find exactly what I''m looking for. Since I''m on my second pair and not happy with them, I want to be positive this time I getting the right pair.
