Hello,

FIrst post, long time reader of this forum.

I've been digging around the internet, trying to find a type of engagement ring setting for my girlfriend. I haven't been having much luck, so I wanted to see if anyone on here could point me in the right direction. The stone will be a ~1.2ct princess cut G VS2....

I'm interested in a white 18 kt or Platinum thin setting (2 to 2.2mm wide max), with micro-pave......I'm looking at both rounded and more traditional band styles; also, I'm looking at both eternity style bands and bands with diamonds only 1/2 way around (see links below)

My budget for the setting is to keep it under $2,000. Clearly, I won't be going for a very high end piece, but I wanted to see what options are out there.....please let me know if you have any ideas....my Googling skills are getting worn out :D

Thanks!

I am partial to WF because I have seen their settings in person and they are nicely made. They are good to work with. Great customer service and they have a nice selection of stones, if you are looking for one.

I think I have my setting selected ... also wanting a thin pave style. I tried on Simon G's pr108 in person this evening. I am planning on ordering it and having some engraving done on the prongs and tops/bottoms of the bands.

This was very thin in person ... so lovely!!!

Oh my, the BG pave ring is STUNNING!!!

@Acrossley - how much was the Simon G PR108? I am considering this setting as well. Thanks!

Hi angus, Well I am partial to the first Whiteflash ring you mentioned since it is what I chose for myself as an upgrade for my wedding ring 25 ish year anniversary. I like how thin it is, that it is a very subtle glittery look and the main focus is on the diamond not the setting. It is very comfortable (I think larger diamonds on the side might not be.) I have small fingers and larger settings looked too big for me. Some people have mentioned they prefer a cathedral like head and I think WF has one, but I like mine.

Anyway, my daughter is almost engaged, into the ring looking stage at least and I told her to not get an eternity band because 20+ years into the marriage your knuckles will get bigger and you will have to have the ring sized up which you cannot do with an eternity band. I went from a 4.5 to a 5.

Good luck finding the perfect ring!
