Hello everyone,

This is my first post after a crash course on diamond grading/buying through this great site.

The search is for a princess cut F-G color Vs2-Si1 with ideal/excellent light performance and ideal/excellent polish and symmettry..
i prefer the look of the 3 chevron design with a larger table.
Having performed searches on the wf site i have found the following stone:

Carat 1.016
Color E
Clarity VS2
Cut Ideal
Certificate AGS
Depth % 73.7
Table % 72.9
Crown Angle 48.6

Pavilion Angle 39.3
Crown % 12.8
Lower Girdle % 0.0
Measurements 5.42x5.38x3.97
Culet Pointed
Fluorescence None
Girdle Medium to Slightly

The larger table and 3 chevron design seem to be rather difficult to find in the cut above category.
I have also requested some aset information from JA for two other stones.

Any input regarding the aset for this stone would be appreciated. There appears to be a tilt to the image accounting for the leakage on one side.

I am leaning towards the JA stones since the ACA stone is a stretch for my budget and would really want to keep the 1 ct size.

You're on the right track! Farmergal's choices are also worth looking into. Personally I'd check out the D/VS2 she posted since it's substantially larger for a similar price to the WF stone, and it's a D, which is pretty cool. But all of them look promising in terms of cut.

Please post the ASETs and photos of the JA stones and we can help you from there!

Thanks everyone, great find on the D stone.

I should have the Aset images later this week.

Now im trying to find a setting from JA that has a low profile, thin band and no bezel, without knife-edge holders.
maybe i need to start looking at some photos from other vendors.

A solitare setting similar to the wire basket posted would be ideal.

Im not sure about the prong style though the square cut looks better to my eye with vprongs . The online gallery has a few examples im looking through.

i was expecting more red and less blue in the aset. Do the corners and side look weak?

im wondering if there is enough red for ags0 ideal classification

Anyone have thoughts on the leakage/ contrast pattern?
JA do not belive it is a dark center (nailhead) stone

First one looks much better than the second.

The second one was a smaller stone 1ct that was more inlne with the budget.

My third pick was the best aset of the bunch but has a feather popping that is not recommened by JA

thanks everyone, the JA D color stone is my pick and i hope to recieve it soon.

Congrats! Did you get the wire basket setting?

I'm really excited to see the stone in person since it is highly recommended by ja gemologist.
I decided to use a open pavillion setting and thought the basket would cover to much surface area.
The stone will be set in the 4 prong knife edge ja platnum setting i hope the icy white D will be as visible as possible.

You will have to come back with pictures:)
