Cutie! Name's a bit of a mouthful though.

SHE IS SO CUTE TOO! I am so sad I missed Westminster...

She is very cute and I think she deserved to win after doing so well in all of her previous shows.

But I''m still bitter that the Frenchie didn''t win Best in Show!

I have to admit that I was surprised, though Sadie is a cutie-patooty!! I know these dogs are already champs, but I''m always impressed with how well the group winners do in the BIS showing. The crowd is usually loud, the lights are all over the place and they still stay focused. Lordy, my dog loses focus in the ring if a bird flies by, haha.

Oh my gosh, that is hilarious because I did the same thing. When I saw the Frenchie I said "It''s Irishgirrrl''s dog!!" and D said "What Irish girl?"

I was very happy with this year''s BoB Newfie winner! My favorite part of Westminster is watching the videos of the BoB judging!

In other news, this baby elephant was born at the San Diego Zoo on Feb. 17.

I saw that! I had to keep flipping back and forth between Westminster (which I was also tivoing) and the Olympics. I would really love to go to Westminster one day.

Sadie''s from Michigan! Whoo Hoo!!

Congrats to Sadie! The dogs are always soo well behaved and perfect!! There are times I wish my husky had that kind of focus!

I''m such a poor judge of breed standard so I was just go with whatever dog I *like* the most. I''m a fan of short haired dogs so I''m always drawn toward them at the show. Hey, what do I know? I own a Ridgeless Rhodesian Ridgeback. They wouldn''t allow one of the those in the same town as the dog show!

Anyone here go to local bench shows? They''re so fun! I wear my crappiest clothes then go pet a bunch of doggies! Man, I stink when I get home but it just makes me happy. Last year, I discovered a breed that I never heard of before - the Duck Tolling Retriever - beautiful animal!

Puppmom, I''ve never been to a local show, but DH and I are considering going to a Frenchie show that''s taking place in our area next month. It''s an "unbenched" show, but I have no idea what that means??? I''ve never been to a dog show before, so I''m totally clueless! Any tips or advice you could give me would be SO appreciated!

Irishgrrrl, I''m not that experienced with dog shows but when we decided on the breed of dog we wanted we visited bench shows to meet breeders and their dogs. A bench show requires that the breeders and/or handlers stick around for questions etc. and most let you pet...yay! At a non-bench show breeders are not required to hang around after showing so there will probably be less petting but that doesn''t mean there will be none. That is my total lay-person explanation of the difference!

If you''ve never been to a show before, you''re going to be in awe of all of the dogs of one breed in one place at one time. It''s really mind-blowing - for me anyway.

Don''t be shy to approach the handlers! Just make sure you do it when they''re done showing instead of before! :) A couple of times I''ve been approached before I enter the ring and I''m sort of trying to re-fluff the coat as I enter the ring. Have a great time! I used to go to shows before we started entering and had a great time!

Thank you! His name is Bowden, he is a 3 year old male Boston Terrier. I am so enamored with him. He is in a playgroup with BT''s and Frenchies. They are adorable together.

fsu- he''s super cute. my grandmother had a boston terrier named polly before she got too old and had to give it up.

I will kiss the floor of whatever major dog show finally awards Best in Show to a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel!! Although I am biased, there are gorgeously put together cavaliers that are not getting the recognition they deserve, IMHO. Goes off to comfort own cavalier...

Thanks for the dog show tips, everyone!

FSU ~ Bowden is adorable! When we got Tucker, we seriously considered a Boston . . . they are SO cute!
