I tried these two on at BB&B the other day. I prefer #2 alone, while #1 looks best with my engagement ring. I'd probably go for #2 in the end.

They are $2,570/.47ct/2.5mm and $2,230/.52ct/2mm respectively (in platinum).

So my question is... would I be way overspending to get either of these? I have no experience in pricing bands! I know that Scott Kay will come with a premium, but I don't know how much of a premium. I'm willing to overspend be a little to completely love it

ETA: Oh, and here they are on pearlman's, if you're interested... click here for #2 and then top right on the same page, for #1

Sorry for the delay, skip! My "submit" button works after about 1.5 minutes, but not more... so I tend to type fast, submit, then edit! haha

At that point (price-wise), should I go for a leon band?

I DID!!! I actually emailed Leon today to ask how wide it is

heeheee Good job; I hope it is the width you want too! Keep us posted.

Me too! Though it looks awfully thin... I''m thinking somewhere between 2-2.4mm would be perfect. That one I''d take a wild guess at 1.7, it''s so teeny! I hope he has time to email me back soon, though I know that the jewelers are getting into their very busy season...

Thanks for replying skippy!

Any thoughts? No one wants to talk me out of SK?

musey, that Leon one is very pretty and a great price, but only .27 carats so you are talking teeny, tiny stones...I''m thinking something like a michael b wisp band...1.5-1.7mm. go for it if it''s what you want but remember a deal is a deal only if it''s exactly what you want

as for the scott kay.. i love his stuff, very well made an decently priced for a designer. did you see pearlmans is offering 15% off giftcards that can be cashed in right away? so you basically can get the band for 15% off which is a nice bonus. I''d hunt around for pricing b/c they will pricematch so if you can find it cheaper they will sell it to you for that, plus the gift card and you might come out with a great deal on the scott kay that you really want..

That's exactly why I emailed him (as I mentioned in my earlier post, I figured it would be way too thin as I'm shooting for about 2mm).

The real question is whether the Scott Kay is overpriced enough that I may as well go custom Leon once I'm in that range! Hmm...

I don''t think scott kays are over priced that much. not like michael b or daniel k. my guess they are going to run very close, but that''s just a guess, with Leon possible being more just b/c it''s from scratch where SK has the molds ready to go. you''ll just have to call around and see who can give you the best price. I for one just don''t like going custom unless I cannot find what I want already out there. But that''s me, and I completely understand if owning a Leon carries significance too. I''d get a quote from Leon and then call a few scott kay retailers and see which price ends up being better

Umm... Is tht his standard price for one of those or for just that one. Cause at that price... I can afford the two bands I want for my ring... and then some!

I''d have to see hand shots with your ring to make an educated choice.

But that leon is lovely. I''d get it if it were in my size...I would love a thin thin band. But I agree that it may be too thin if it''s not at least 2 mm.

On price? I do love both, but I don't think I'd ask for help choosing in between them (asking questions like that always leads to even MORE confusion, IMO!)

Leon emailed me back, just copied-and-pasted the info from the website then gave me instructions on ordering

So still no clues as to the width.

Anyway, I might try to get a quote from him on a fishtail-style pave eternity band in 2-2.2mm

well he says it has 53 stones and is .27 cts...so that''s about 1/2 pointers. the michael b wisps have .25 ctw of diamonds (don''t know how many) and is 1.6mm....so i''m still guessing that band is 1.5-1.8....definitely under 2mm..

definitely email his for a quote though for a 2.2mm band...can''t wait to see what you decide...

I love the SK #2 and the Leon on the far right. I can''t wait to see which band you choose musey!

Oh... I know that doesn''t work for you Maisie. But it works perfectly for me, I have to say. Hmm.

Do you mean me?

You should totally go for that leon band, and get him to make another one like it!
