school vent

I don''t normally do this... but it''s either vent here or start crying in class. The current semester ends in 1 week and 2 days. Maymester starts in 2 weeks. I just got an email this afternoon telling me that they''re not offering the class I need after all. I only need three classes to graduate, and I need to get them done this summer. I can''t stay another semester, my lease is up in August, they''ve already rented it to someone else, I can''t afford another 12 k in tuition. I tried to go and find another class, but the registration site is down... I am so upset right now I could scream!

Awwww, I hope you''re able to find something that satisifies your requirements! Is there someone on campus you can call who knows how to deal with this stuff and can tell you what other options you have?

That sucks. Hoping you can call your advisor, or talk to someone in the registrars office. There has to be something avaliable to fulfill the requirement.

I know exactly how this feels, I was literally four credits (one class with lab, or two classes) away from an additional major when they decided not to offer anything that would satisfy the requirements.


Have a long chat with your advisor, he should be able to suggest something. You aren''t the first person to have this issue, not even close!

Oh no that sucks! If you can''t figure it out when the registration site goes back up try talking to someone in the registar''s office. Ultimately when it comes down to it, they certify you to graduate no matter what your transcript says so they may allow you to substitute a different class.

I had a friend this happened to and it really was the school''s fault and they actually paid for the last semester of tuition he had to take to graduate.

Well, this is a long shot, but one year I was the only person in an upper level foreign language class at a large state u. The prof met with me in her office at lunchtime. I needed the class so she essentially did a directed study with me. Not a lot of professors would do this-but you could inquire. I remember that I begged and whined if that helps. I may have even cried a little.
