ERRRRRRRRRRRRRR

However, I make almost 4 times more a year than I made before I went back to school................... YEAH!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Lit Chick I can''t believe law tuition was only $4000/year just a few years ago. I''m currently in my third year at a Canadian law school and my tuition is almost $13,000/year

My parents weren''t able to help me financially for university or law school (though they helped in countless other ways) but I worked hard during undergrad and got some scholarships so I managed to escape that debt free. I wasn''t quite so lucky for law school - I will finish in 6 weeks with about $10,000 in debt: $5000 in OSAP (gov. loans) and $5000 in a bank line of credit. My goal is to have them paid off by the time I finish articling (about a year).

Student loans aren''t fun, but I''m counting on them being worth it in the end.

10K? That's really not that much debt for something that not only lasts a lifetime but significantly contributes to your future earning potential. Gee, I had to pay $10,000 just to fix my balcony last fall. So, yeah, it's definitely worth it to have that amount of debt to go to law school for SURE! It should be easy to pay back in a year if you're careful.

I feel your pain! I managed to escape with my B.A. loan-free, but my graduate school was a very expensive private institution that set me back about $50k for two years. My first payment is due next month.

Layney - a few years ago is more like 10 years ago..... I take it you are out east, which is more expensive, I understand. But is it more expensive than an engineering degree, etc??? When I went to school, tuition was pretty much the same, irrespective of which college you were in.

$10,000 debt for law school ain''t bad. You will have that paid off in no time, but I guarantee it will be worth it financially in the end!!!
