Thanks to Erika and Andrey for asking me to kick-off this yearly topic again.

The JCK Show is roaring along in Las Vegas, and many Pricescope contributors are in-attendance.

Looking to the busy weekend ahead, we are inviting questions, comments and dialogue from the community: Any curiosity? Any burning inquiries? Any hunger for the latest bling-news and diamond-celebrity gossip? Ask away!

We're especially looking forward to the 3rd annual Pricescope Get-Together on Saturday night. This has been a home-run event, with terrific participation from PS regulars, delicious food & drink, beautiful sponsor prizes and extremely rewarding fellowship. Expect some terrific jewelry photos from this night where we bend the rule about: "What happens in Vegas..."

It's great to be back on the strip with colleagues and friends again.

I'm curious what jewelers think the metal market is going to do. Has it leveled out, will it go lower, rise back again (maybe even higher)?

Yes, I'm curious about this, too. And when can we expect to see any decrease in metals prices reflected in the price of settings? (I have some colored gemstones waiting for settings, can you tell?).

Wow. What an evening.

It's the wee hours, but before turning in I wanted to bump this thread to say THANK YOU to Andrey and Pricescope for staging a truly first-class event. The venue was incredible, the serving staff were phenomenal and (most of all!) the attendees were a dream team of pros and prosumers who were all generous with their energy and enthusiasm.

I'm exhausted. Thank you everyone for the great fellowship!

Four at a time max, and the system will resize (at least it does for me)

Hi John,

Just wondering could you comment on the availability of cobalt-doped glass-filled sapphires at the show? Is there much of this material about? I know they have some serious durability issues but I would love to know how much they are being priced for and whether they look attractive.

Hey I just got back from Vegas and just wanted to say that it was wonderful to meet so many people from the PS community Saturday night! I had a great time! I need to track down Rhino and get copies of the pictures he took of us hanging out with John Pollard and the crew from the AGS Laboratory, as well as get a copy of the picture that was taken of me and James Allen at the PS Party ~ which by the way was held at the top of the Sky Tower at the MGM, all I can say is WOW what a view!!!
