Hello, I hope I am posting this in the right place. I need some advice.

It is our 10 year wedding anniversary this year and I am going to get a new ring but I cannot decide what setting. I have some stones left over from an eternity ring that I broke so it is not a question of stones but the setting. I want to have a 2.5mm ring with 10 stones in and then 1 blue sapphire (for my son) and two pink sapphires (for my daughters), the rest diamonds.

I am going to stack this ring with my 2.5mm diamond scattered stone (son baby ring) and a 5mm diamond and pink sapphire scattered (which was for my daughters and is very like Etienne Perret's work). See picture below.

What I can't decide is do I have the ten stones set in the band in a line or do I get them bead set? I would like to have a more sparkly ring that really popped but I am going to stack this with the others on my RH so would this look odd. But will the bead set distract from the 10 stone element. It would be more obvious in the other setting.

Some other info you should bear in mind is that I am hard on my hands. I am choosing these designs as my jeweller has said I need a strong setting. I broke my shared set eternity just with daily wear. I would not stack with my wedding set as my ER is an emerald with emerald side stones and my wedding ring is a E/W emerald eternity. I like keeping my emerald cut together and my rounds together.

I have done a mock up of the bead set version that I have done for my jeweller which I attach for you to look at. I have a few months yet and before you ask my husband is happy for me to get what ever I like. He is no help in these matters.

Any thoughts, what would you do?

Thank you.

Sorry my post was so long. Does anyone have any ideas?

For me of do another scatter band like the ones you already have. A thin one, maybe at that point its not scatter anymore, just in a line. ALSO, I think it would be nice to see it bezel set.

Thank you for responding. Yes I think if I do another band that is similar it might look better. I would not have the stones scattered as not the space but drilled in again. I am not sure what you call that technique. The ten stones would go around the band more.

It would be more like this...

Are the stones small enough to be in a 2.5 mm scattered band? This would be the deciding factor.

My preference would be the second pic above, where the thin band has a brushed effect and the stones are gypsy set. Seems like that would be a safer option for busy hands :))

Thank you for your comments. I did not know that type of setting was called gyspy set. I think I will go with a gypsy set band to match to others. It will all fit much better.

I will just have to get a bling ring for my 40th. :appl:

i vote gypsy set stones
