we sent a package, so the STD had the names and information on date and time and location...and then we included an accomodations and travel card for them to book and websites to major airlines if they wanted to book their own. but ours was a destination wedding too and then we included a pair of wooden handmade flip flop magnets from kauai....and i put them all on shredded wood and pacakged it in a white mailer. i was really happy with how they turned out!
We sent out our save-the-dates REALLY early because we''re having a destination wedding and wanted to give people a chance to plan.
We modeled ours after a friends who sent theirs out via e-mail.
Honestly, I''d do it differently if I had to do it all over again.
Ours was just SUPER LONG, and I''m pretty sure that many people didn''t bother to read it all.
I also really like having an actual card or something (flip flop lol) that you can hold and look at.
We gave out flight and travel information, possible places to stay etc.
We sent out STD magnets that had our names, the date and the city and state of the ceremony. I also included a leaflet that included all necessary info on hotel accomodations, airport information, and a few websites about the city and the area so people could check out things to do, etc.
We didnt get around to a wedding website, but if we did, we would have put the URL info on the magnet or on the leaflet.
