So I noticed a discrepancy between the carat weight of a stone I''m considering on the Sarin report and the GIA cert. On GIA stone is reported to be 2.01 cts and on Sarin it''s 1.98. What could the difference mean??
one is weighed (accurately) and the other is scanned, a volume calculated and multiplied by an ''average'' density factor. The biggest error is usually the scanners accuracy.
