Hi all,

I've been lurking here for a month or two and have really appreciated all of the thoughtful advice and good humor I've found.

I'm seriously looking at buying this diamond (http://www.bluenile.com/diamond-search?track=btn#diamonds_pid=LD02395166) and wanted to post here as a sort of sanity check before I actually buy.

The specs:
.71 ct
Cut: GIA Excellent
Color: I
Clarity: SI1
Fluorescence: Strong Blue
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: VG
Depth: 62.8%
Table: 55%
Measurements: 5.67 x 5.72 x 3.58 mm
Price: $2056

I'm no diamond aficionado, and neither is my girlfriend. Here are my thoughts about this diamond. I wanted to get a high quality cut RB around 3/4 carat. I like the idea of fluorescence because it A) makes the diamond cheaper, B) might make the I color more like a G, and C) might have some fun glow in sunlight/blacklight. I currently have a request in to BlueNile to make sure it is not overly blue, as well as to make sure it is eyeclean.

Based on the specs, does anyone see any obvious problems? Thanks for any input!

I'm sorry, I should say that I'm hoping the fluoro might make the I more like an H. (Not a G. Apparently I haven't learned my alphabet.)

Also, my thinking was that the priority for this sized diamond should be cut. Hence the GIA Excellent.

With SI clarity and strong flouro I would just want to confirm there were no adverse effects
