SDL, I noticed in another thread that you mentioned that you sometimes miss having a solitaire. I didn''t want to jack that thread, so I thought I''d ask my questions here:

1. What does your new setting look like?

2. What do you like/not like about your new setting?

3. What did you like/not like about wearing a solitaire?

4. (This one''s not a question.) I love your new avatar! It always makes me laugh!

The reason I ask is: DH and I are going to upgrade my wedding set someday (hopefully within the next couple years), and I''m desperately trying to figure out what I want! I know for sure that I want a prong-set eternity band for my wedding band, but the e-ring is a stumper. I know I want a good-sized (1.5 to 2.0 ct) radiant or cushion, but I can''t decide if I should put it in a solitaire setting, or an eternity setting to match the w-band. I like both looks and, as usual, I''m indecisive!

Thanks for any advice you can give!

BTW, anyone else who has experience in this area, please feel free to speak up!

Ohhhhh, it''s GORGEOUS!!! I just love the contrast of the white diamond with the sapphire sidestones!

And that''s so sweet that your DH''s birthstone is sapphire . . . that gives it special meaning! (I''ve actually been halfway looking for a citrine RHR, because citrine is my DH''s birthstone.)

I know what you mean about solitaires being so classic and elegant . . . they''re also easily upgradeable, which doesn''t hurt at all! LOL!

I''m still not absolutely sure what I''m going to wind up with, but I have some time to gather info and figure things out. I''m currently leaning toward getting a simple solitaire setting for the e-ring, pairing it with the prong-set eternity band that I''ve been itching for, and then maybe upgrading the e-ring setting to one that matches the eternity band at some point in the future. Or, maybe I''ll just get a second eternity band instead and wear that on the other side of the e-ring!

Everyone on this board is so helpful, and I''m getting some great ideas!!!

Aw, I''m so sorry your experience with your first setting was not a good one . . . I can imagine how disappointing that must have been.

Fortunately, you did get a beautiful ring out of the process, and you might not have done your reset with those gorgeous sapphires if you''d had the solitaire setting you were supposed to have in the first place, right? Everything happens for a reason!

And I know what you mean about PS . . . I''ve made soooo many mistakes in jewelry in the past that I will never do again now that I''ve found PS! In fact, my jewelry life is divided into two eras: "Before PS" and "After PS"! LOL!
