My husband (love saying that!) is heading to San Francisco for work in March, and his boss is graciously hosting me during the duration of the trip in a very nice hotel.

We are East coasters, he’s on the West coast all the time for work, I’ve never been. So I’m making the most of it by heading to Seattle for two days while we are out there.

I am reading that crime wise SF can be a little rough and I’ll be alone during the day, but I would really love some recommendations for shopping and dining! I want to hit some good consignment shops.

As far as sight seeing I’m planning to check out Alcatraz, Golden Gate Bridge, the redwood forest, take a trolley ride, and explore the Palace Of Fine Arts. In Seattle all I’m coming up with is the space needle and Pike Place, but would also love shopping and dining recs.

An ambitious 8 days but I think I can do it!

Lang is in San Francisco! https://www.langantiques.com/
We ate at Lazy Bear, which was a fun experience (and great food): https://www.lazybearsf.com/

Seattle -- if you're there at Pike Place Market, check out Isadora's for lovely antique/vintage jewelry. Lots of lovely Deco colored-stone stuff -- but not a lot of reports. Then there's Turgeon-Raine downtown which is more contemporary and designer-y but just a gorgeous selection. Shiro's Sushi is phenomenal. We try to go whenever we are in town. During Covid, they switched to all omakase but it was a legit bargain in an unpretentious neighborhood-restaurant vibe.

In SF, make an appointment to pop into Lang (EDIT: I see that is posted right above). They are lovely and you can see all of your dream pieces in person. And there is a phenomenal Michelin-starred Indian restaurant almost right across the street (Campton Place, IIRC) -- at least there was before Covid.

Oh, and I think both cities have some non-jewelry-related attractions, too.

I am so excited for Lang!
