Hi all! I'm headed to San Diego this weekend and am interested in some gooood fish taco suggestions. Thoughts?

Also, does anyone know of any nice antique jewelry stores where I can while away the hours?

Harold Stevens -- for diamond fun!

City Tacos for straight tacos.
Casa Guadalajara for Mexican food.
Pokez or Ranchos for vegetarian/vegan Mexican food.

But I don't think you could go wrong with most mexican places here.

Be sure to visit H Moradi in La Jolla. Their sales people are extremely nice too. They have two stores on Prospect Street and are located accross the street from one another. Have Fun URS TX!

This little hole in the wall full of locals has excellent Mexican food.
I stay out of San Diego's gaslight district ... too touristy. :knockout:
IMO tourist traps have overpriced, poor food with poor service.

For breakfast in San Diego it's The Big Kitchen

3003 Grape Street, San Diego, CA 92102

Another local hangout, in a residential neighborhood just east of Balboa Park.
Great food, service and prices.
Dripping with a home atmosphere.
You feel like you are in mom's kitchen.

El Zarape is great! And H Moradi in LJ is fun for antique browsing. But keep in mind that you should ALWAYS bargain them down. The listed prices are often much less than they'll accept if you haggle a bit :)

Also, Oscar's Mexican Seafood and Don Carlos taco shop. Both are super yummy. Also for sparkly antique stuff at reasonable prices check out Ark Antiques in downtown LJ. Have fun!!! :appl: :appl: :appl:

Thanks everyone. El Zarape and H Moradi are on the list for sure - can't ignore the high remarks!!

I agree Gaslamp district is overpriced. Tourists... (That'll be me - lol).

Kenny - thank you for the breakfast suggestion. I like mom and pop places with good food! :naughty:
