When a stone is has a DQD, stating it is an ideal cut, With a zero in light performance, performance factors and finish, can the assumption be made that the stone will look good? it seems as it should? But It seems there are so many tools like the ASET, IS and HCAs data we need to consider. Do we only use these tools after we have looked at the DQD or can we skip thw DQD altogether and simply use the other tools.

I don''t make assumptions, I have seen distinct leakage in the Idealscope and ASET images of some AGS0 rounds and especially recently so I always want the images even for these. Basically with an AGS0 I don''t use the HCA but go directly to images. Some are better than others, get a good one and you have a stunning diamond.

If the report is the more recent DQD/Pt report, then the ASET image on the report is a fairly accurate representation of the optical performance.

The DQD I''ve seen gave been dated this year. So now that AGS has added the point system to include the ASET gives a more accurate "grade" of a stones performnace. Compared to the "old" but does not mean you should eliminate checking for yourself. Maybe a professional appraisal.
