Sad...I love this ring

However, I want it for my 2ct Asscher diamond...I love that it is a REAL antique, I love that it has history and I just...LOVE IT!

Do you think there is anyway a jeweler could fit my 2ct Asscher diamond into the setting? Or is it just not possible? Any opinions?

UCLABelle, that setting has a 4 ct synthetic emerald-cut aquamarine in it, so I would wonder if your stone will be as wide as the intricate detailing on the side. It would look weird for your stone to be somehow shorter than the sides. But it may be the same width and look great! I guess you''re not happy with the solitaire setting you have your asscher in now? I''m not sure if a jeweler could make your asscher fit or not. Or what about getting one custom-made? Although that may not be an option if you really like the history of the antique setting.

I don''t know that your stone would fit...the aqua does look long. With all those pictures to go by, I''d consider having one made for your asscher...maybe even having a few tweaks put in if there are elements you want to include.

When looking under ''findings'' on jewellery sites I have seen illusion plates for putting in settings, I don;t know if you can get those for asschers, one of the vendors on here would probably be best to ask.

I think it would be a lovely idea to have one custom made like that to fit your stone! I''d be very hesitant to think that that one could be altered satisfactorily to fit your stone. Better to make one like it that would fit perfectly.

That ring for a rectangular stone will not fit properly the square stone. It is an easy style to make and your jeweler should be able to do it for you. Unfortunately, it will not be an antique when he does, but it could look like one...

Why don''t you just get it and enjoy it with the aqua? Or put a different colored stone in there? Maybe one day you''ll get an asscheresque emerald the perfect size!

Deco-Great idea, but that 4ct Aqua would look WAY TOO big on my 4.5 finger I am more of a "plain jane"....
