I'm curious. Now that we seem to know more about who the final two presidential candidates will be, who do you think will be their running mates?

I think Trump will propose that he will be so good at being president he won't need a vice-president.

Could Bill Clinton be VP?

I know there are term limits on the president, but VP is not president.

No, since he could potentially become president of the pres died.

I think Clinton will pick Sherrod Brown. He clinches Ohio for her.

Trump will probably choose someone from the business world without political experience. DH thinks he will choose his son. Trump/Trump - could it get any worse?

Be careful what you ask for.

A reporter has asked Hillary about Bill as a running mate. She said they have looked into it!

I agree that Trump will probably pick someone outside the political world.

I was thinking Trump would find Angelyne's 'qualifications' perfect for the job underneath him.

But then, 'working' quite a bit in D.C. might make her an insider.

Trump may select a female running mate=some CEO or college professor who has a poly-sci/international studies background=but an outsider. Hillary will pick a male insider with either a conservative view or a military background... just guessing.

Truly frightening. I would say that Trump/Palin is my worst nightmare, but this whole election pretty much already qualifies for that, so.....yeah, I guess other than just plain old curiosity, running mates don't really matter that much (to me anyways).

Technically, someone can be president for a day under 2.5 terms. So if they were VP for under two years when the the pres does, they would become president and could still run for two more terms. If they were vp for over half the term, they'd only be able to run for one more term as VP. So I guess he technically has just under 2 years of eligibility left. Not sure how it works in reverse.

Keep in mind, this is something I remember from my American Presidency class I took as a PoliSci undergrad, and my pregnancy brain/AMA could be impacting my memory.

I think Trump will pick Chris Christie. I think Christie sold his soul to the devil when he endorsed him and the VP nod is his prize. That's my prediction.

I don't think Clinton will pick her but I would love to see a Clinton/Elizabeth Warren ticket. I love Elizabeth Warren. I think she is fantastic and agree with so much of what she works for. I don't think she would run with Clinton. I do think she might have said yes to Sanders though.

Trump would be a fool to pick someone outside of politics. He won't do that. He knows his best chance is to pick a seasoned politician with experience.

Hi,

This morning Trump said he would pick a seasoned politician, even considering someone from the 17 contenders he just beat.
He wants this someone to be a person he has rapport with.

Contrary to what has been said about his supporter being working class, a study from exit polls,(to be found in the Huffington post), shows the income level of his supporters is 72,000 vs Hillary and Bernies of 61-62.000. John Kasich(Sp. ) supporters had an income of 96,000. The median income level of all Americans is 56,000. I suspect closet supporters. In my neighborhood there are people who openly support Trump, and are quite willing to discuss why, without rancor.

The tragedy of all this, for me, is that both candidates are far from the "best that we need for the Presidency. But, I suspect Trump is a little nuts, and is by far the most frightening candidate. But , I have stayed interested in this election.
