I've been thinking about a rounded channel set eternity band for a while, but haven't seen anything that really matches that description on the market. Most channel set bands have really square pipe-cut style edges, but I want something more rounded and comfort fit.
My deign specs so far:
Metal: platinum
Melee: 0.015ct F/G VS ACA melee - stones to go all the way around the ring for a full eternity.
(If you think the design would look better with a different size of melee, please let me know. Melee of 0.03ct and above are too coarse-grained for this project. The melee should be more of a line of sparkle than row of distinct stones)
Ring size: 4
Ring width: approximately 3mm - a nice width for pairing with my 2.5mm e-ring, but also substantial enough to wear on its own.
Ring height: approximately 1.7mm evenly all the way around ( my ering varys in band height from about 1.5 to 2.0mm, so I thought 1.7 could be a nice compromise)
Ring design: Rounded edges would give the band the shape and feel of a rounded–comfort fit wedding band, rather than the usual sharply defined pipe-cut sides of a traditional channel-set band. The corners and edges of the band would be rounded to eliminate the sharp outer corner edges of the “rails” that form the diamond channels. The edges meeting the inner surface of the band would also be rounded for a comfortable fit. The metal edges would be a prominent design feature, but should not overpower the diamonds in the middle.
Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions?
