So after researching diamonds online for a few weeks, and going to various people in search for a diamond, I finally came to the conclusion that your budget is the most important part of the entire ring purchasing process. I have visited several jewelers and have received the following estimates. If anyone out there could guide me, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks for the help, and this forum is a life-saver.

Champion,

Welcome.

First...your conclusions seem a bit strange to me, for having been here as long as a couple of weeks. Have you read the tutorial yet, above, under knowledge?

Generally, given the availability of the sort of info, I wouldn't make a purchase without crown & pavilion angles, and as a bonus, reflector images help. Contemporary GIA certs carry these. They help us. But you're not reporting them. That they come with cut grades makes it highly likely they are available with these 2 you're looking at. You should find these out, report these, and even run the HCA yourself.

Local buying can make a lot of sense, but...for an e-ring, I'm fond, preliminarily, of neither cut ratings from GIA below Excellent, or clarities of SI2...although either can be OK...but your odds start to go against both of those...and that's all you're telling us.

Something like this, for under $12K with a Pricescope discount, sans ring, can get you there. Just to give you an idea.

(edited to add)...and, if being above 1.66 is critical, here's two more, discounted to $12,2 and $12, 9 with wire pricing, to consider also, fyi

Regards,

Sorry, here is all the information from the GIA certificates for both stones.

and i just noticed, for ring 2 above, i put SI2 but it is actually an SI1...sorry for the typo. I hope this was all the information you needed. Thanks.

I like the 1.76 better, although I don''t know why it only received a cut grade of very good.
