Looking for comments on this diamond. I know that color will show on the sides. However due to the MB Fluorescence it faces up whiter and along with a premium cut it may hide the the inclusions well.

Bigger is better in my opinion, but I may be going to low with a K and SI2.

What are the crown and pavilion angles?
Have you seen the stone? Are YOU okay with the K colour?
Where are the inclusions? What type of inclusion is it? Not all SI2s are eye clean.

Looks promising but we need more info to help you, I take it you have actually seen this diamond from what you say?

Ooooooooooookay I should have known all of you experts would need more info. :) and I say that with the MOST respect. You are all so very very helpful always...thank you thank you thank you

I emailed ERD about this stone. I was told he talked with the owner of the diamond and was told that the color looked very good. Inclusions looked good for an SI2.

He told me that although the Fluorescence helps it face up whiter that color will show from the sides.

I know I would not be purchasing it UNLESS ERD actually brought it in and looked for themselves and gave me their personal opinion. Right now, he has just talked with the owner.

With the info so far, is this worth investigating further?

How about a setting that hid the sides. Something ornate or bezel like. Would that be an option to cover color on the sides if the diamond faced up white?

If Mark feels this diamond has potential then definitely look into it!

As to trying to hide any tint from the K grade, my feeling is that a lower colour which may show some slight tint is beautiful in its own right and should be something you can embrace, rather than trying to hide it. However if you feel strongly then a bezel setting may be a good move, but just to let you know in some lights you may notice a hint of tint face up, you need to decide if that is ok with you. But to my mind a beautiful K looks gorgeous and a softer white rather than icy, it can be a fantastic choice! There are many happy K owners here who have incredible diamonds.

Did I read on here once that there is a site you can go to put in the GIA cert number and pull up the actual GIA cert on diamonds
?

You are welcome!

It scored over 2 on the HCA, but possibly this is because of the steep pavillion angle, it could still be a very nice diamond, if the price is right along with everything else, I would see about getting Mark's opinion if you can. You could also see if Mark can get an Idealscope image and an ASET possibly as this would be helpful, but Mark's eyes are your best tool along with your own for the final decision.
