David Klass is making a setting for my new stone. He has been awesome to work with, always patient with my questions and changes. My inspiration ring was a ring that another PSer Alexxxx posted. I just fell in love with it and said that's the one.

David sent me photos of the rough today. Keep in mind we will add milgrain and engraving to it in the finishing stage. The ring is in 18k white gold. I changed the head and made the shank a little thicker ( from 1.8mm to 2.3mm)because I am so hard on my rings.... but now I am second guessing it. The halo will have melees set on the profile side. I am trying to decide whether I want to use rubies or diamonds for the bezels under the halo and the shank. Anyways, my head is spinning from staring/thinking so much, I would love to get opinions/ feedbacks on the rough cast. Thanks so much.

Obviously it looks a bit bulky right now from the cast, but it seems to be a good representation of the insp ring. Do you have any head on shots? I would stick with diamonds in the bezels, this setting already has a lot going on without adding another element.

+1

It's a good representation of the vintage inspiration ring. I would indeed stick to diamonds to avoid a busy look.

Oh the last pic just loaded for me - I really like it! I don't think I'd change anything.

I think it looks good too! I would stick with diamonds

So diamonds, huh? I am sooo wanting some color. The rubies was my compromise for chickening out of rose gold.... hahaha maybe I'll just add some sort colored stacking band. But I'll post photos when they send me photos of the ring with rubies/ diamonds. Thanks for sharing your feedback. Attach is a photo of the inspiration ring head on and the shank.

Diamondbug, get what you like! There is no right or wrong here, the ring will be lovely with colored stones too. It really comes down to personal preference. But I agree that a CS band would be a nice way to add color. You can see an example in lia's profile pic lol.

Thanks Junebug. Problem is I just can't commit either way...so many options

I agree, they are under the gallery so they wont be seen all the time so if you want rubies...get rubies.

David is so sweet. He is going to take photos of the setting with rubies and diamonds so I can see which I like better.

Just seeing this, I'm so excited for you! I love it a lot

Thanks Alexxxx. We are still tweaking it. Hopefully we will be done so I can look at it on my finger instead of my laptop.

That's great and very nice of him! It really helps to have a visual aid - Let us know what you think!

I love that ring! I love the one Alexxxx just had made, and it looks like yours is going to be equally as stunning!

It is finally done. And it is just gorgeous. We started the journey November 15th and just got the ring on last Monday 2/16. And it is beautiful. Simply, classic and yet just a hint of ornate that I crave. David and Amy was just awesome and fantastic to work with. Will take photos when I get a chance.

So I am sure you noticed that it is a different setting than what I started with. It was a looooong journey of ups, down, ups, more down and up and up..... but thankfully we ended with up!! YAY Started with the cast above, then I changed it to a mix of the current design with another ring I had and it just did not turn out as expected. I was not crazy about it and David was so wonderful and understanding about it. He wanted me to be happy. I was going to go back to the original design till I saw a 3 stone ring that he posted on FB and it just took my breath away. I see that it is owned by Sandy Cheeks,a PSer too.... of course!! I will attach a photo of the inspiration ring that took my breath away. I emailed David to compliment him on it and he actually asked if I would like for him to source some pears for me...... I was floored. I was worried that it would be out of budget, since I am already pushing the budget, and he reassured me and said that he would do his best to stay in budget... that man is a a saint :saint: ... So long story short... here it is:) It is 18k WG. .61 cctw G VS2 pears. Satin finished shank with engraving and milgrain on the profile. I lurve my precious  :D

I thought my eyes were failing me & I needed a new prescription. LOL The new ring is gorgeous & the addition of the pears is a beautiful touch. Congratulations.

Bit of a change from your original plan but I really REALLY love the final finished design! I also love hearing how wonderful vendors are to work with. That really means a lot to how you enjoy the process and the ring in the end. It's a beauty, especially w the pear sides, diamond bug!

Wow! That is not the setting I expected at all! It is very pretty though...Congratulations!!!

I really love the ornate engraving...you dont want any on the top sides of the shank? Might be too much huh?

Hahaha yaaaa... I was wondering how I was going to xplain myself with the end results :? It was a crazy ride but sooo much fun. Don't think David feels the same

David and Amy were fantastic. If I drove them nuts, they never showed it or said anything. David just said yes ok.....really he did!! I never thought of myself as a 3 stone ring kinda girl but I really love this ring. It is so classic and simplistic with a touch of ornate... just like my confused personality

I thought about the full engraving but worried that it might be too busy for the simple lines so cheated and went crazy on the profile. I really love how it looks like a totally different ring when I see the profile..... like a 2 for 1. DK really does amazing engraving. And surprisingly the brush finish on the shank makes the ring look super white.

I am waiting on a band from DK and then I will post a thread of the two together... hopefully I will have my own photos to share by then. Thanks everyone for you support and kind compliments. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey and I am a little sad it is coming to an end... except that now I get to wear my gorgeous ring and not just looking at rings on my monitor!!

I didnt even noticed that the top of the shank was brushed metal. Very cool...

I love your ring! You need to start a thread for it! I saw your avatar picture on another thread and had to find out more about it! So pretty!

The ring is fabulous! Can I ask how you chose to have DK do this ring? Did CvB do your last? Loved that one also!

Hi DS! Thanks. I love this ring..... finally not thinking of another ring.....well at least for now   I am planning on posting a thread about it but I am waiting on a wedding band that DK is making for me. It should be done in a wk or so and then I will post a thread for both.

Thanks Lilysweet. I can't take credit for this design. I was in mid reset with DK when I saw him post this setting on his FB for Sandy Cheeks another PSer and I just loved loved loved it so he was wonderful enough to make it for me while still staying within my budget. He totally nailed this design. The pear proportions and angles are perfect... I was going to tell him not to angle it too much so that I can have more finger coverage but thank goodness hubby told me to just let DK do his thing and it came out perfect!!

CvB did make a ring for me. It is a gorgeous ring but the execution needed tweaking. My sister now owns that ring so it is still in the family ;))
