The jeweler I am speaking with re: ordering wedding bands told me that "red" gold contains just copper mixed with gold, whereas rose gold contains zinc too so it is less pink. Does anyone know if 9k rose or red gold would tarnish like copper over time? I'm kind of worried about that, if it is 15 parts copper!
A google search brought up a few comments about it tarnishing...but how could that be? Is it just that there's not enough gold in the alloy and too much copper? Concerned :/ I was going to go with this jeweler because our budget for wedding bands is practically zero, and it's a great price! The pinker the better really, so I'd be happy with 9k as long as it doesn't tarnish like copper!
And if you happen to know or have pictures, is there a noticeable difference between rose and red?
Thanks so much!
