our reception provides the basics: white linens,etc. my colors will be burgundy (bm dresses) and some oranges (orange roses/calla lilies). i''m thinking of renting champagne overlays so it''s not a harsh white against colored centerpieces. also going for romantic, warm, intimate feel, so figuring that and dimmed lights and candles could create a great effect (it''s a fall wedding).
but now i''m wondering about the napkins..will white napkins throw the whole effect off?

I think the white napkins will be fine... as long as we are talking about overlays that still allow the white table cloth to show underneath. Last wedding I went to that did overlays had square overlays on a round table and it looked great. I would go bolder than champagne, though, I would do burgundy overlays.
