I know that you guys get this stuff all the time, but I have been flipping through posts and...wow, I don''t know anything about diamonds.

" src="http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/images/smilies/23.gif" border="0"> Now considering that I am getting ready to buy the ring for my sweeite by the holiday season, I should probably get up to speed. Ok I understand (at least threortically) 3 of the 4Cs. However, after looking at the FAQ section, reading posts, and seeing tables about GIA grading of cut I am totally lost on that last and what some at have presented as the most important C - cut.

So I think that I would like to buy an round, 1.5ct, G, SI1 or SI2 (actually just eye-clean). I would like a cut that complements a diamond like that. If possible I would like to spend as close to 8K as possible, but with a good-looking stone.

Any links, advice, or help is greatly appriciated.

Thanks.

Hey, J.

Personally, I think that'd be a little hard, though possible. What are you willing to give up? Going to 1.4 cts? H or I color?

I agree with Julie. Here's a stone, just to give you an idea on pricing, and this is a J, and just under 1.5. Going TO 1.5 and over really jacks the price up.

Also, this is a rather hard size to find. Usually you find up to about 1.3 and then they jump to 1.5.

Agree with JulieN & Ellen. Here's one of JA's specials (meaning it may not literally be in-house, but he has a relationship with it).

Suggest if it's not too onerous you check out the link below my signature, so you can DIY.
