Romantic Long Weekend in the Berkshires?

DH and I have an excuse to be in Great Barrington in July. I'm a southern girl and haven't been to the area before so I'm looking for some guidance. We will be leaving our kids at home so, while we don't mind a few, we would like to be somewhere that isn't overrun with families. We like a comfy bed, good restaurants, and some outdoor activities like biking or hiking. A spa nearby and some cultural activities would be a plus. Mostly we are looking for some peace and quiet and to just get away from it all. My budget for a room is in the $400 per night range.
