Okay so we got a little carried away and purchased a beautiful ring at robbins brothers this weekend. The thing is it is White gold, princess cut, three stone already set ring. Pretty basic, and I know that I can find other places. Now - outside of the moment, I feel like we overpaid. It is within the 30 days, but they are sizing it down to a 4. Do you think we can still get a discount or a refund?

I don''t know what you paid, but I would be willing to bet it''s too much. To give you an idea of what I encountered, they showed me a one carat cushion (might have been 1.05 or something), D color, SI1 for $7999. It was not well cut with a table in the high 60''s. It was also only a very good polish and good symmetry. The Jeff Cooper setting I wanted from them was $1700 and the wedding band $695.

I ended up getting a F/SI1 1.03 carat cushion from White flash with an excellent/excellent polish/sym that faced up BIGGER for about $5000. My setting I found at Robbins Jewelers (no relation to Robbins Bros) for $1300 for the e-ring setting and $610 for the wedding ring. Keep in mind, you don''t pay the tax to these vendors if you are out of state. Robbins Jewelers site is www.weddingband.com

So, rings if I had purchased through Robbins Brothers: 11251.50 (includes 8.25% sales tax)
What I paid for a better diamond and better service: $6910
Difference: $4341.50

Not chump change.

you''d have to check Robbin Brother return policy. since the deal is done it''s not likley you''d get a discount but possibly a refund if the sizing doesn''t cancel the refund policy.
