Ritani setting process

This website has been so informative and helped me choose a beautiful stone. Now that I have the 1.5 round brilliant, I have decided on the Ritani Endless Love setting (w/o the halo). I was in Bailey & Banks yesterday, and the saleslady assured me that they can set the stone in-store without sending it to Ritani. I''m aware that a lot of people have had to send their stone directly to the designer to have it set. Bailey seems to be confident that they can order the setting from Ritani and set it in store without any difficulties -- has anybody used Bailey & Banks to set their stone in a Ritani setting and has had good / bad experience?
Also, because the price of the setting is so expensive, I am most likely going to purchase it in white gold. I know platinum is more durable, but do you think white gold will hold up also?

White gold will be just fine. I also thought that Ritani set their own. There should be some Ritani owners along soon to clarify...

That particular setting also comes in palladium (which I am in the process of purchasing). With it being so thin, I figure you might get a quicker yellowing with white gold. The palladium is more like platinum, but costs about the same as the white gold.

I have the setting that you are talking about. I HIGHLY recommend having your stone sent to Ritani to have it set by them. In addition, you should know that some stores are still carrying samples of the ring before the design modifications were made. My jeweler was, and I was really unhappy with the way that the setting was modified. In the end, I ended up having the ring sent back to Ritani and having them remake it to look like the setting did before they changed the design. I am getting a ritani setting in white gold from billbarnes.com (I should have gone with pearlmans). I have been waiting almost 3 months for Ritani to complete the ring. Luckily I don't need it until december, but just a heads up. It might take a long time!!!
