I've never had this hard of a problem trying to spend 14K. I asked for an in store preview for a loose round diamond...they mailed to my Jewelry store and all went well, Diamond was ok but didn't blow my socks off. I asked if they could send another one so I could compare and they stated they could not. Then I get email saying they can only send another diamond if they own it. Needless to say, the diamond I had picked out was not owned by Ritani, and was sold the next day according to their website. So I bite the bullet and purchase a diamond from their website and I ask for some pictures...and they refuse to accommodate. I believe they only want to push diamonds that they personally own. At this point I refuse to do any business with them and I'm going to cancel my purchase.

Can someone please refer me to a diamond dealer that knows how to treat their customers, especially when they are ready to close a deal.

I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience.

Great customer service I've seen either first hand or numerous times on this site.

Good old gold
Whiteflash (you know they sell ritani settings if you still liked their setting)

You have to understand that jewelers who list a virtual inventory do not have access to those stones without paying to have them shipped to them and then they have to ship to you or in the case of Ritani, a jeweler. That can add up to a lot of money. For that reason, it is best to shop the in-house stones of any jeweler first of all. I have used Good Old Gold and WhiteFlash many times, and they both have a nice in-house inventory of well cut diamonds. In addition, they provide photos and idealscope images right on the site so you know exactly what you're getting before you order.

Buy the diamond separately from one of our trusted vendors and then send it to Pearlmans or someone else that has good service to get the Ritani setting you want or look on ebay there are plenty of new and used Ritani settings on there for sale.

What does the setting look like I am sure everyone will make other suggestions for you.

Oh, if he wants a Ritani setting, he should buy from WhiteFlash because they have great diamonds and are Ritani dealers. (I see Niel already mentioned that, too.)

I'm always pretty skeptical of stones that are on the virtual list. Yes, there may be some pretty good ones there. But I really think that the vendors snatch up the best of the best for their in-house inventory and leave the lesser stones behind. There may be exceptions to that. But I always look at in-house stones first.
