Good for you!I guess the sterling group will never know how much this situation really cost them...if they would have taken care of you earlier then we would have sung their praises and many positive stories would have been told and retold from the many people who read this forum...but now each of us will tell and re-tell the people we know about your store and they will be villianized and so their mistake will cost them much more then a few hundred dollars.

on a problem that could have been solved much quicker... AND it took the intervention of
the BBB for a call to action.
I''m a firm believer in empowering store managers to make the right decisions
on the spot (if the problem is verifiable).
Reduce the heirachy system and take management back to the store level.

really agree with you...and i would like to add that if there was proper training and hiring practices in place in the first place then the pendant would have not been mis tagged by an employee who didnt know(or care) about the differance between .29 and .50...

I am continually amazed at what poor customer service this company gives. I''ve been round and round with Jareds myself, and will never hand them another penny of my money. Thank goodness that your situation was resolved. But you should have never had to fight so hard for a proper response from them.

Today the VP of Customer relations at Sterling called to apologize for all I have been through and tell me the BBB contacted her about my problem. After a through investigation, I am correct (I knew that) and I could have a promotional grade .50 ct ering or pendant to make up for the loss. I didnt want promotional grade and insisted I get store credit to buy whatever I want. I went right over to the store to return my incorrect diamond and after education here nothing was looking too good. I ended up with a nice heavyweight yg .75 diamond bracelet worth (on the tag) $300 more than my trade in but they gave me an even exchange. The bracelet is cute, the diamonds are small but white, and I am happy! They DID make me sign a legal document saying I would leave them alone concerning the previous incident which I did because I will never shop there again anyways. But Three CHEERS for STERLING CORP for finally doing the right thing!
