Dame Judi Dench would probably worry she could be next!

Maggie Smith (and Dench) are two of my favorite actors that I wish could live at least 100 years (in good health).

The end of an era.

My husband and I have this little habit of saying "Maggie Smith is a treasure" every time we watch something with her. I will miss her.

Time to rewatch Downton Abbey.
 
Not unexpected I guess, but still hits hard. One of my all time favorite actors...hard to believe she would actually die!

Loved her in everything--but a fav was The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. Such a marvelous talent twill be missed.

I loved her in those 70s and 80s ensemble films - Death on the Nile, Evil Under the Sun, Murder by Death - she was brilliant in all she did, but in those films she really shone. Trading punches with Bette Davis and Diana Rigg! Heaven!

When I'm looking for something to stream I search for anything with her, or Dame Judy Dench.

i find it good to remember that she was not always an old lady

she had a whole career long before Harry Potter and she was blessed as an older actress to win really well written parts of older characters

i gotta admit i was late to downton abby but i really hoped she would be in a 3rd movie
