RIP Angela Lansbury

Oh no!
We just lost one of the last great actresses from Hollywood's Golden Age....
I just watched her a few days ago in 1945's "The Picture of Dorian Grey".
She won a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress for that film.
She was nominated by the Academy for best supporting actress for "Gaslight" in 1944, and "The Picture of Dorian Grey" in 1945, and "The Manchurian Candidate" in 1962.

Bergman was wonderful too.
I think she won an Oscar for Gaslight.

Landsbury's character reminded me of the one Betty Davis played in one of her her first roles, in the 1934 film, "Of Human Bondage" with Leslie Howard.
Another great flick.

Agreed! Ingrid Bergman had such a wonderful screen presence.
"Of Human Bondage" is one of my favorite books. Bette Davis and Leslie Howard also starred together in The Petrified Forest (1936) with Humphrey Bogart, another one of my favorite actors. So many great old movies.

There's an "old movie" channel that I watch every night. So much better than anything offered on "regular" TV these days.

They talk about Bette Davis' eyes, which are legitimately beautiful, but look at those Lansbury peepers!! I'll always remember her fondly as Mrs. Potts.
