I just started shopping tonight and I'm new at this so I dont really know what I'm doing. I found this one today but I've been reading bad things about Zales and Vera Wang customer service and quality and swapping rings while re-sizing and what not. I really like this one and I know she will too. Where can I find a similar one like this? Id like to go to a local or a reputable online place if possible. It doesnt need to have the sapphires on the sides. Needs to be a halo with split shanks and would prefer a princess (or cushion) cut but I "think" round would be fine in a halo. How much can I expect to pay if I go to a local jeweler and have one customized similar to this (or online). Id like to stay below $3k for the full ring.

R_Kell628,

Check out this halo with split shank: http://www.b2cjewels.com/Diamond-Accent-Settings/Cathedral-Split-Shank-Diamond-Engagement-Ring-Cushion-Shaped-Halo-14K-White-Gold-10550-1.aspx

or if you want a princess or cushion/asscher center stone: http://www.b2cjewels.com/Diamond-Accent-Settings/Square-Cut-Double-Halo-Split-Shank-Engagement-Ring-14K-White-Gold-12509-1.aspx

I'm pretty new at this type of research, but have seen good things posted about B2C Jewels and their prices seem reasonable.

A one from James Allen: http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/halo/14k-white-gold-cushion-halo-split-shank-diamond-engagement-ring-item-50133 (they have a few other halos with split shank, but the price may make it difficult to get a nice center stone within your budget)

I don't feel knowledgeable enough to suggest center stones, but there a lot of very knowledgeable people on this forum!

Good luck!

The vera ring is a 0.375 ct center, are you ok with that? This setting is pretty elaborate and will eat up at least half your budget.

eta - i mention the center because the ad says '1 ct' however that includes all the pave.

Thats what I was thinking...

this isnt exactly the same but has a very similar feel. Its under 2k.
if you pay by wire, and get this stone should be just over 3k, especially if they apply that 25$ for it being your first purchase. if thats the case it would be like 3010

I love this simon g ring a lot!!! I think it's loads better than the Vera Wang design. And you'll get a much higher quality setting.
