We just upgraded our wedding set to a Verragio setting with a 1.5 ct diamond. It has been a long process from start to finish. We have had to send the rings back because they were not sized right. They made us a new setting which we have waited several months for. We just picked up our new settings last night and I am 90% satisified. The only issue I have at all is that we ordered the rings to be made in my size and the wedding band appears to be sized after the fact. Both rings have a knife edge and while the eng. ring is perfectly symetrical all around, the wedding band appears thinner in the back where sizing typically is done. It doesn''t distract from the beautiful front side that everyone sees...it is just my perfectionism getting the better of me. Should I let this go? I really don''t want to have to go back to them with any more issues...I hate feeling picky. We did spend alot to make this perfect, though and they are the ones who can''t seem to get it totally right. Any advice would be helpful.

Send it back. If it bothers you, it will always bother you and for the huge sums of money you likely spent, you should be 1,000% thrilled. Never settle for less than what you expected. Just my humble opinion, of course.

Take a middle ground approach if you are not happy about it. Go and calmly speak with someone where it was ordered who is in charge, not a sales clerk. Express your dissatisfaction without a lot of complaint or length and just show them where the problem you see is located. Don''t labor over a long explanation. If you are right, they will simply see the problem and offer to fix it. If you are over the top in your perfectionism, then maybe they will say that it is not going to really get better. Maybe they will offer a new ring altogether.... Who knows for sure?

At the point where there seems to be no hope of compromise, repair or replacement, you should either accept it, or find an attorney who will process your complaint in a costly and untimely way that will never give you real satisfaction. You need to weigh the value of this option as an extreme one, not as a normal way to solve a problem.

Usually a calm head and soft speech will win the day. The softer you speak, the more inclined someone will be to help you. The more loudly and insistent you are, the less likely. This is human nature and experience. Give it a try. Don''t just give up quite yet.

I agree with Dave.

You get more with honey, than you do with vinegar.

I definitely would do something about it if it''s bothering you. As said above, going in and calmly and nicely explaining what you''re dissatisfied about should be enough to have them rectify the problem. However, definitely go right to the top. Don''t start with a salesperson, ask directly for the manager there.

I think oldminer is right on the money here.
