OMG, after two weeks of waiting -- tomorrow''s the day!!!

Not-quite Mr. Shertz and I are going to Quest in Fairfax, VA, to see the Vatche Swan. They got a loaner in for us. :)

Of course, I *just* discovered Artcarved and now want to try on some of their stuff, too .... luckily, Quest carries them

So excited -- I have my little list of diamond measurements as a cheat sheet :) I hope we find something -- I''m sort of ready to stop looking after a month of deciding.

I attached a little canvas of the ones I''m looking at -- the Artcarved Hayley is the one on the left -- the Swan (2 shots) is on the right, and in the middle are the Van Craeynest bands I love. If I get a simple solitaire, I may splurge on a VC as my band. :)

That''s awesome!!!! I''m so excited for you! Artcarved rings are also very pretty! We, myself-my brother-and LuckyesheFSIL have seen them in person and really liked the look! They also come with matching wedding bands which was important for my brother since he already has a hard time deciding on an e-ring, he wanted to make the w-band choices as simple as possible. Good luck on your e-ring shopping tomorrow!! Hopefully you can take lots of photos so we can see them and drool over them with you!

Oh my actual goodness, those are beautiful!!!! They''re exactly my kind of thing to a T, I didn''t think you could get rings like it! You have no idea the effect those pictures have had on me!!! What are they called, Artcarved? Is it just an American thing? I''m hoping beyond hope that it''s not and that they''re still around when my turn comes!

^^ The Artcarved one is the engagement ring with the filigree/milgrain/embellishments on the side

The bands are a brand called Van Craeynest, which is out of San Francisco

AC has been around since 1850 (and this is what initially attracted me, I''m a huge American Civil War buff), so they''re pretty much an institution? :)

I''m sooo jealous! Just had a quick peep online and doesn''t look like they''re over here in the UK, so either I get on over to the states, or I find something similar. I''m sure there is, but it''s just so difficult to find the right words to search to find something like that!

Be sure to post as soon as is politely possible tomorrow, hehe, I can''t wait to see what you get, though it will mean me having a severe attack of "oh come ON already!!"

I will! :)

We probably won''t buy tomorrow -- we''ll run possible diamonds through the Holloway Cut Adviser and see if it''s better to get a diamond elsewhere ... given our budget, we''re sort of straddling a fine line btwn getting something awesome and something FABULOUS.

But my little cheat sheet is all ready to be handed over. In 24 hours, I''ve managed to cram for the examination, LOL

Oooh! Very pretty Good luck! :)

I love those van craeynest bands

Wow! those are lovely settings! I''m particularly fond of the swan!
Congrats on taking the "next step"!
Enjoy every moment of it! And don''t forget to update us!

I''m dying to hear about the Swan. It''s one of my top choices for a setting.
