My boyfriend-soon-to-be-fiance (getting engaged for Valentine's Day!!) and I were looking at rings again this weekend (old and new ones). I liked this ring and took a picture so we could have time to think about it as we are still shopping around and online.

In your opinion, do you think this Center Stone Diamond too small for my hand?

I definitely don't think it's too big or too small, you should get what you like and what is in your budget though!

i think its a good size.
If its in your budget; get it!

My thought on diamonds is "go as big as you can afford," rather than making them proportionate to a hand. I'm sure there are people out there who buy smaller than they can afford because they feel a smaller diamond looks better on them, but I would venture to say that most (not all) people would go for as large a diamond (within desired specs) as they can within a budget. :naughty: I could be way off base, though :wink2:

So, with all that being said, I don't think there is such think as "too big" or "too small" when it comes to diamonds.

I think it's a good size for your hand as well. It's enough to get noticed, but not so big that you'll have trouble lifting your left hand. :cheeky:

I think it's a nice size for your hand.

I don't think it looks too big or too small- it's a nice size. The real question is what do you think? =)

I think the size is perfect! You have gorgeous hands too!

It looks gorgeous and in good proportion to the size of your hands, so if it works with budget considerations I say go for it. Come back with pics of what you decide!

Thanks! I am still looking but this one is in the running.

Before I finally bought the ring for my fiance we went to a local jeweler to see what different sizes look like on her finger. She is 4.5 and is 4'11" so she is pretty small. She tried a 1 carat on and said that it looked good. So she next tried a 1.5 carat and said it was too big. I wasn't going to get her a 1.5carat right now, but was very curious if she thought there was too big, which for her there was. I ended up getting a 1.3 carat RB.

i think that's actually quite a big center stone, particularly if one saw that in the real world (which is where most of us live).

definitely nowhere near small. in fact, i think it will draw people's attention. does that mean too big? eh? up to you.

also depends on where you live. in canada, that would turn people's heads. in ny, maybe not so much.

I think it is a very nice size stone and looks good on your finger! :) It is all about how it looks on your finger and how your bank account looks afterwards :naughty:

I also think its a nice size!

You have very pretty hands, and that ring looks gorgeous!

Oooohhhhh, I think it is beautiful. If it's in your budget and you like it, it's the right size. :twirl: Although I will have to say if you think it is too small now, that feeling only gets worse...ask me how I know.

Alright, I hope you don't mind that I photo-shopped your photo so you can see what the ring would "really" look like on your hand. I only had about 5 minutes, so I got it to look the best I could in that amount of time. :wink2:

Thank u my diamond ! :wavey: I can't believe how you did that! Thanks!! It looks great. I know, it might look smaller as time goes on, but when it sparkles it looks bigger and the pic didn't capture that. Maybe if I set it in another setting? I still got more rings to check out! :naughty:

Out of curiosity, how big is it?

I think it's gorgeous and looks like a good size on your hand.

It is a gorgeous ring  It looks like a lovely size for your hand (if you love it!) :sun:

Thanks for the responses - I appreciate honest advice - that's what I need!

I think that one was either 1.5 or 2 carats. We were shopping looking at different rings. :naughty:

I guess I could always get a halo setting or get the one they are selling it with?

I think that the size looks really good on your finger. And I think you have beautiful hands. I'm jealous! ;))

I say go for it. It looks like a great size!!

I think it's gorgeous!

I think it's a great size for your hand. It's neither too big or too small.

Thanks for the compliments. Do you think this is a 1.5 or a 2 ct? If anyone can help because we have a ton of notes with specs, then I can figure out which ring this one is. My boyfriend said when they measured me my ring size was 6.5

I'm guessing 1.5 (maybe 1.7) and it looks terrific on your hand!

I think it looks amazing on you!! Like said before, if it's in your budget go for it!

I think what we go through with our diamonds, the guys go through with big screen tvs.
You should go with as big of a stone as you're comfortable with, I think over time it'll seem smaller to you.
