1. It depends on how far down the shank the diamonds go and how they are set
2. It depends on how much of a resize is needed.
3. It depends on how much you want to spend - even a full eternity band is resizable.
Basic method is the same as for most resizes - cut the shank and gently bend the ring (cutting or adding a piece), then resolder the joint. This will probably work for 1/4 to 1/2 a US size. More than that, and you start having too many variables to give you a "recipe". You may be able to remove metal from the inside of the ring, add sizing bars/beads or you may need to unset and reset the stones.
hi daisi2112 i''m no help with this, but i was just wondering if you ever found a wedding band for your ring, are you worried that you wouldn''t be able to resize an eternity band if you went in that direction?
It depends on how much you would have to resize the ring. I think anymore than 1/2 a size and you may be looking at some trouble with the setting of the stones? My wedding band is only half diamonds (only on the top) and I had it resized one full size with no problem, but not completely shure about 3/4 of diamonds around.
Oldmancoyote has given you a good start with this. It depends on how the diamonds are set, how hard the metal is, how large the size change is going to be, etc. This must include how far around the diamonds go and if you are willing to have a less than round interior /exterior on the ring. Some do become more oval.
OMC definitely answered the question well! Be sure that the quote you obtain to resize the setting includes the labor to tighten all of the diamonds in the ring after it has been sized to reduce the possibility of diamond loss due to the sizing. I know that it seems reasonable to assume that a jeweler would tighten the diamonds in the setting automatically after sizing up or down and that the cost of doing so would be included in the original quote but in my experience it is not necessarily always so
