I think my e-ring is a bit too snug when I wear it with a band. It fits fine without a wedding band, but I fear that when I wear a wedding band it''ll be too tight. Currently it''s a 5.4. It''s a tad bit smaller than a 5.5 (which was too loose on me) but bigger than a 5.25 which wouldn''t fit over my knuckle. i have weird fingers, so they determined a size in the middle of 5.25 to 5.5 would be best. However, I think I need to go up to a 5.5 in order for it to not be too tight with a wedding band.

I am afraid that they will stretch the gold to size it up. I have heard that is BAD for a ring, that it thins the width of the band and can damage the ring. I would rather have them add gold then try to stretch it. Will a reputable jeweler be able to do this without damaging the ring? Don''t take it to a mall jeweler right? It''s such a tiny amount to size up that I''m afraid they''ll just try to stretch it and it''ll become mishapen or thinned. I am very picky so I will notice any imperfections. Thanks for your help!

Anyone? Please?

Is it summer where you are right now??? I like to judge in the summer as they will always be loose in the winter. If it is a bit snug in the summer you might be fine but if it is too tight then I would resize it. I had a white gold ring I resized several times and didn't have a problem with the gold; I guess your jeweler or the experts could tell you best on that.

eta: Ask around to friends and family if they know of any good jewelers who have a bench person on staff, they can do it for you. This link might help too http://www.pricescope.com/jewelers.aspx

i am not an expert, but i think that since the change is such a small amount that even if they stretched it you wouldnt be able to notice it being thinner

May I suggest you find a jewller who uses european sizing? their numbers are different, and allow for all of the inbetweens (my 6 1/2 becomes a 53). It you could try on their rings for size, you''d have a better idea of which size would be the best. Being somewhere inbetween two sizes would make it really hard to get a decent fit. Here''s a table I found, a 50 might suit you perfectly!
