Ring design issue with my Jeweler - Please advise

Hi Everyone,

I have given my jeweler a D Vatche design:

The problem is that she has made the ring and the band is the same thickness for the entire ring. It looks bulky compared to the design I wanted...

She has said that because I am choosing channel set, that she doesn't want to risk making the band too thin - but she didn't mention this before and I really want it to be a little more delicate - Can experienced people please advise!?

A channel set band is going to need to be thicker. The way the stones are set there has to be enough metal under and around to keep the ring from collapsing into itself. Besides that, she can get into serious copyright trouble copying a design identically.
