I need some help from all you setting experts. Basically i've selected a setting from the Mark Schneider range called "beloved", complete with the matching wedding band.

I really want to customize it for my fiance to be so that she's got a 'one of a kind'. Now i know she loves 'twisting' rings and she also really wants diamonds on the band. What i'm proposing is to add a half band of pave diamonds to this design which i think will look wonderful and truly make it a custom ring.

Can i get some advice from the experts here? I just am curious to get opinions on how the pave will work as it twists and approaches the head or claw? I just want to get some expert opinions on what to ask for or what would look good...

It's similar however the basket doesn't twist and the band doesn't twist on its way to the basket. While the differences are subtle, I think the net difference in the design is significant.

Still curious to get opinions on a pave version of the beloved.

Did she pick that setting or did she say she likes twisted rings and you found that one?

Just trying to make sure because there are rings with twisted bands but they are much different.

What you want to be done can be done by someone that does custom work easily.

We've seen similar rings so I'm going off what we've looked at, not so much the word twisted as such

Yeah I know I can get it done custom but I'm really into MS design but also feel the need to get a one off

I would not try to copy a design like that. Get the original. Fine custom rings are going to be expensive anyway. But the prongs on those look pretty bulky to me. I would specify that I want them more delicate. Honestly, I'd buy that e-ring as it is and buy the matching diamond wedding band. You may lose the design in a sea of little diamonds if you add diamonds to both. They have the design right as it is, in my opinion.

You won't need a ring design expert then, all you need to do is ask MS to modify the setting to what you want. If they do designing they should be able to do anything you ask.

i guess i'm after peoples opinions on the modifications i'm asking for to make sure i'm not requesting something that won't look good

sorry diamondseeker i missed your reply...

so you're saying get it as is or modify it with more delicate prongs I actually asked them to do a single prong version but the sketch came back and it seemed like the double prong actually made it look more delicate than the single...

so i'm thinking some pave diamonds and leave the prongs alone in case singles ruin the look... also the diamond going on it is a 1.5 and not a 1.0

well...

i was lucky enough to get to speak directly to Mark Schneider and he was quite helpful. Gee it's nice to talk to the ring maker and let them know what your concerns are and to find out if what you're asking will work or not.

He thought we could make the basket more delicate because we were using platinum and he was happy to put a pave on the ring as well!! So now i'm able to deliver my (soon to be) fiance with EXACTLY what she wants, and i dare say a bit more.

Whiteflash and Traci helped line this up for me and I could not be happier after speaking with MS and now i'm sure we will get the best possible result...

stay tuned for pics once i get it!! :naughty: :naughty:
