Another question for today! I would like to get an appraisal done on my e-ring and wedding band. Currently they are not soldered together but I am about to have it done. Do I get an appraisal for each one separate or just wait until they are soldered because that is how I will wear them? Will it affect the appraisal amount whatsoever? Thanks!

my old set was soldered together but my appraisal had them listed as individual rings. i don't think it makes a difference in the cost of replacement value.

Some appraisers do charge strictly "per item" and unsoldered rings will be two items. Others may charge you as if they are one item. It is up to each appraiser''s policy. If you solder them together first most will charge you for one item, but probably there is someone out there who will say it still is two items......There is always an exception.

The total fee should be pretty much based on time anyway and the time soldered or unsoldered in going to be just about the same. Explain that they are a set and that they are , in your mind, one item. Do this before you agree to the appraisal fees.
Get an estimate first, too. That way, you won''t be annoyed or otherwise.
