Hello and greetings from Canada! I''m a new member though I''ve read many posts over the last year on your site. I''ve learned a lot from all of you!

Recently I''ve been searching for a bigger diamond now that we can afford to and I would like to ask all of you for your help. I really like the Tiffany novo, which I know a lot of people are not exactly amazed by it by some of the comments, and particularly the pave type setting.

I''ve seen a lot of nice rings with this type of setting however most are over $2000-$3000 for the setting itself. We are looking at a 1.50 ct-1.70 ct. square diamond (my ering is an asscher, don''t like princess cuts). I''ve looked into GOG''s square h&a which is really nice and my first choice however they face up pretty small at 1.5ct, they are not even 6mm…we are talking 5.95mm and that is not far off from my ering.

I know squares face up smaller than rounds, which makes it tempting, but I can''t seem to find a reasonably priced square brilliant for the same size value as a princess or asscher. Is there anywhere else that sells square h&a or jubilee cuts that you know of?

2ns question: Do you know where I can find a quality made pave setting without the brand name attached to it? I really like ritani''s pave setting and I''ve seen Michael B''s princess setting is beautiful, but I''m trying to maximize money spent on the center diamond itself. I''ve been to blue nile which is the only place that has one that is under $1000. All of my jewelry is white gold, so no platnium please. I looked at an earlier post that had all sites of rings and settings and all I found were more expensive pieces (bill barnes, pearlman''s...) so it didn''t help. Are there any sites out there that make quality pave settings without the premiums of the name attached?

Thank you for all your feedback and help!
:)

There are some square cushions that perform really nicely, almost as well as the HA ones.

Stuller makes a Solstice that is quite similar to the Novo.
