Rhodium plating a yg necklace

I'm thinking of having the necklace in my avatar rhodium plated. The stone was my mom's ering, and I had it reset 17 years ago. At that time, I never considered wg, but for the past few years I've been wearing my yg less and less, and so the same goes for this beautiful piece. I reset my own ring into a wg setting two years ago. So;

What do you think?
Has anyone done this with a necklace or earrings?
I'm thinking the plating will last longer on a necklace than it would on a ring or bracelet?
Also, the chain is a bismark. Does the plating adhere differently to a chain or very textured surface than it does a smooth one?
